Police have arrested a 19-year-old Regina man following an investigation into a series of recent auto and property thefts in the city.The man is facing a total of 45 charges, which date back to May 2. He was arrested on Aug. 15 while allegedly driving a stolen vehicle in the area of College Avenue and Halifax Street.According to the Regina Police Service (RPS), plainclothes officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the man. Police said he was safely taken into custody, but the arrest did cause a disruption in the neighbourhood and some property damage to vehicles.The man has been charged in connection with seven separate auto thefts. Some of the stolen vehicles include a Ford F150, Honda Accord, Toyota Prius, 2005 Audi and 2015 Audi.Before his arrest, police allege the man pulled a modified gun, a .22 calibre rifle, and attempted to hide it. The arrest led police to obtain a search warrant for an address on the 800 block of Victoria Avenue. There, police found a stolen vehicle and other stolen items.Aside from vehicles, the man has also been charged with stealing gas, possessing a stolen credit card, possessing an identity document belonging to another person and several breach of probation charges.The man is also facing seven firearm and weapon charges, including possession of a gun obtained by crime.The man made his first court appearance on Monday at Regina Provincial Court.
