It appears that the first round of Notion Ink Adam tablets are landing at the doorsteps of customers today. After a number of delays the pre-ordered devices were promised to ship and so they have, though all is not well with the Adam as apparently the initial software update is bricking some devices. Android Police is reporting that Notion Ink has email customers telling them that some people have had problems with the first update and they should hold back up updating until the issue is investigated. So the good news is that the highly awaited tablet is finally shipping, the bad news is that some people are going to get the tablet they’ve been waiting for and immediately turn it into a paper weight.AdChoices广告Not everyone’s tablet is arriving today though, some customers had their package delayed until the 29th. It’s just a few more days, but it means they won’t be able to take part in the unboxing fun that’s starting to hit the net. Here is one of the first unboxing videos to be uploaded, from a buyer in the UK:Anyone out there pre-order a Notion Ink tablet? What’s the status? Are you reading this post with it? Was it delayed? We’re dying to know!Update – Notion Ink Fan has made it quite clear that the initial update has a problem, but the good news is that Notion Ink has blocked it so the bricking should be stopped for now. Users will have to site tight, let Notion Ink’s QA team do their job, and hope the update is available before too long. Considering the small number of people that seem to have their tablets so far, this doesn’t seem to be a major problem.
