Paula Rathburn, 46, was last seen leaving the rural southeast Palmdale home where she had been staying, pushing a shopping cart containing her belongings, on July 13, when the temperature topped 100 degrees. “We’re hoping somebody might have picked her up,” Detective Diane Harris said. Rathburn was described as a transient but she kept in touch with her mother in Santa Clarita, Harris said. Rathburn’s mother reported her missing after failing to hear from her for an unusually long time, Harris said.
