Sun sparks last minute Qld bookings

first_imgLast minute deals and early warm weather are boosting the number of travellers flying into Queensland for Spring break, according to Tourism Queensland acting chief executive Leanne Coddington.Ms Coddington explained that while holiday forward bookings were strong, the sun has helped sway Aussies to purchase last minute bookings into the region.“Queensland’s regions are offering some fantastic holiday deals such as bonus nights, upgrades and meals and while bookings have increased over the past week or so, there are still vacancies across most destinations,” the acting head said. “We are advising holidaymakers that if they want to go away they should get in quick.”Among the last minute deals available include discounts on Gold Coast attraction passes as well as accommodation specials for people travelling in pairs. She added that popular regions for late Aussie bookers include Bundaberg, Discovery Coast and Capricorn Coast. “Seasonal activities such as whale watching on the Fraser Coast are also likely to attract good crowds in coming weeks,” she said. “On the mainland, businesses are reporting a good level of bookings at beach properties near Mackay but there are still vacancies available for holidaymakers who decide to travel towards the end of the break.” Source = e-Travel Blackboard: N.Jlast_img read more
