Emirates hints at answer to Etihad

Emirates currently operates 1562 pod like seats called “suites” at US $20,000 a pop but its new bedrooms are rumoured to cost US $500,000 each to build, the same price as an apartment in Manhattan, New York. Emirates Airways has given a strong indication that it will respond to the Etihad ‘Residence’ concept apartments. This may not continue, with Airbus to offer higher density seating on all of its planes.  In addition, Emirates currently has a system where it uses wide seats in economy in its A380s and tighter seat organisation in all of its other planes.last_img read more
