Kankakee Community College (KCC) is located on a scenic 177-acrecampus 60 miles south of Chicago and provides high quality transferand career programs, adult education and literacy programs atmultiple sites throughout its 1,600-square-mile districtProvides instruction and assesses student learning in a varietyof courses in the radiography program; collaborates with colleaguesto maintain and develop curriculum; assesses students learning;serves on college committees, and performs other duties appropriatefor a faculty member as assigned; is dedicated to the learningcollege concepts and develops programs and facilitates activitiesthat promote student success and lifelong learning.Is responsible for the classroom instruction and coordination ofthe clinical education sites as assigned by the programdirector. Educational and Experiential Qualifications/Basic JobRequirements:A. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, licensed with theIllinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Division of NuclearSafety (DNS), and registered in good standing with the AmericanRegistry of Radiology Technologists required.B. The equivalent of two years of full-time professionalexperience as a radiographer required with current experience usingCR and DR systems.C. Prior experience as an excellent, innovative teacher and withthe use of instructional technologies desirable; community collegeteaching experience preferred.D. Qualified candidate must have strong reading, writing,communication, and computation skills as well as be computerliterate. Essential Responsibilities:A. Selects and reviews educational strategies and materials tofacilitate achievement of competencies related to each coursetaught.B. Prepares current syllabi and instructional materials inaccordance with course master syllabi, college policies andprocedures.C. Advises, counsels and assists students in accomplishing theircourse and program goals.D. Meets classes as scheduled by the college and maintainsoffice hours as stated in the KCC Faculty Association Contract.E. Evaluates student performance, and maintains and providesattendance and grade records for each class.F. Remains current with content, technology and teaching andlearning strategies in the discipline.G. Assess student-learning outcomes at the class, course, andprogram levels.H. Participates in curriculum and course development.I. Attends division and faculty meetings and communicatesregularly with the division chairperson regarding instructionalconcerns.J. Functions as an academic advisor for students and assists inregistration.K. Participates in the faculty evaluation and in‑servicedevelopment activities.L. Works in a collaborative manner and responds to phone andemail requests promptly.M. Assists the associate dean in the recruitment and selectionof part‑time instructors.N. Provides course materials and assistance to part‑timeinstructors as requested by the associate dean.O. Serves on college committees as stated in the KCC FacultyAssociation Contract.P. Assists in budget preparation by recommending supplies andcapital items where applicable.Q. Follows the policies and procedures of the college as statedin the Faculty Handbook and the KCC Faculty AssociationContract.R. Represents and interprets the program informally at availableopportunities.S. Attends the commencement program.T. Collaborates with the program director to complete clinicalcoordinator duties such as but not limited to; documentation ofphysical requirements, student placement at clinical sites,coordination of clinical contracts and other duties as mutuallyagreed upon with the program director and associate dean.
